Lectors

The Prologue of the Gospel according to Saint John reminds us the “Word assumed flesh and dwelt among us”.  The triune God who created us, offers salvation to His people, and renews His Church, reveals Himself through His Word.  The Word of God is proclaimed as a Living Truth that is sharper than any two-edged sword.

This is precisely why the  Ministry of Lector is an integral part of Catholic worship.  Lectors proclaim the Word of God in the liturgical celebrations of the parish community.  The Word of God, through its devout proclamation and attentive hearing is able to touch the hearts of those thirsting for the Good News of Jesus Christ.
